If you’re reading this…then my navigating to WordPress from Blogger has been successful.  Yay!!

I really wanted to move over here for their navigating potential.  I need a place to put a resume and a gallery.  Thanks for coming with me!!

Thanks Mom & Dad for the awesome birthday gift for the kids. I told you they’d freak out when they saw a trampoline sitting in our backyard….and they did. It’s going to see a LOT of use this summer!!

Saturday morning….after a sleepover with the neighbour girls, Mica made them hot chocolate for breakfast. After watching their marshmallows float in the hot chocolate, they thought it would be a great idea to bob for apples…no wait….bob for their breakfast!! So apples, wrapped granola bars and whatever else we could find that would float, went into the bin of ice-cold water. The game ground to a halt when Mica submerged her head for a bunch of grapes that had sunk to the bottom and nearly couldn’t breathe from the shock of the cold water. Oh well….giggly girls on not enough sleep and anything seems like a good idea at the time :)

I’m so excited to be on the new Rose Moka Design Team! This is a company based in Quebec (so I’m dusting off some nearly-20-years-rusty French language skills) and relying heavily on online translators. They make Beautiful paper that I’m thrilled to be working with. I think this will be a perfect compliment to my Clear Scraps team!

Come check the Sneak Peek of their new line on my Art Blog!

Trev & I tiled the backsplash in our kitchen (see previous post) and then we decided to tackle a project both of us had wanted to do for a long time – a tile/mosaic table top for an outdoor patio table. We’d had the table top sitting in the garage for a year (Free from MCC because it had no legs) and I purchased a few glossy black tiles yesterday (also from MCC – $1.50 for 7 tiles) and we used the leftover tiles from our bathroom floor reno.

Today after work, I grouted. I ran out of grout with one corner to finish…Thanks T & L for having exactly the same colour leftover grout handy in your garages – you’re our heroes!! The finished product still needs washing and sealing….but you get the idea. This was SO Fun!

It’s done! I have a new kitchen countertop and a tiled backsplash! Ain’t it great?
I’ve been waiting for awhile – what started as a simple garbourator install turned into several longer jobs (doesn’t it always), including framing in the basement and wiring in more electrical to the kitchen…etc. But now it’s done – just in time for Mother’s Day!! I love how it turned out and I love that we did most of it ourselves! I’m so impressed with all the stuff Trev knows how to do! We have a flooring goal eventually too but that will wait. Now it’s time to find some FREE stuff to do this summer!

Happy Mother’s Day! I love this weekend. I’m not a gift-y person so if there’s no flowers or whatever – I’m SO OK with that. But I love the little cards from my kids that they’ve made in school and I love all the kisses and hugs this weekend.

I’m walking on Sunday. Our city’s doing a Run for Moms. I think the concept is that it’s going to be on Mother’s Day every year with a different charity getting the proceeds. This year it’s going to Anna’s House so that’s awesome.

And a little sadness. My Grandpa died last weekend so we’re traveling a little this weekend for the funeral. We’ll miss him….but he was 97 years old and ready to go. I’m kinda tickled…thinking about him running and playing and singing and all those things he hasn’t been able to do for awhile. I hope it’s awhile before my Grandma joins him but at the same time – that’ll be a joyous reunion too someday.

Hugs.

Most of you who know me, know that we’ve had a Beagle/Basset Hound cross dog for nearly 2 years now. We got him at a garage sale during the summer of 2006. He’s adorable and despite the fact that we never got him formal training….he’s a very, very good dog. He’s completely housebroken, only does his thing in the box we built for him outside (so no messes to step in on the yard barefoot in the summer), and he’s great with kids and other animals. So, what’s the problem? Well….I think we (and by we, I mean Trev & I) have realized that we’re a little too spontaneous and self-absorbed for a dog. We hate the kenneling when we travel. We hate having to ask neighbours to let him out if we’re gone for most of the day. And we hate having to have him on a leash in town when all he wants is to run.

So? We found him a new home. It’s in the country. With room to run. He’s got 4 cats (I’m sure they think that they’ve now got a dog but we all know that Dogs Rule). I think he’ll be very happy. The transition here wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be either because the kids have a standing invite to come visit whenever they want (he went to live with a friend of Mica’s actually). I’m going to miss the scrapping opportunities (see Clear Scraps album above) and how cozy he was when he snuggled in for afternoon naps downstairs.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh…… (that’s me – a big sigh). And please slap me if I pick up another puppy and think that maybe this time it’ll work.

That’s how I feel most of the time. I get paid to scrapbook? And make cards? And work with little kids teaching them their numbers? And last week, when my “office” was inaccessible due to the book fair, I got paid to listen to kids read, play math games, photocopy, mactac and repair books!!! Have I mentioned that I love my job? OH…and the best part? I’m home by 12:30 to a quiet house. I think I’m the luckiest.

“Faith” album created from Clear Scraps acrylics.

We were having a discussion on Scraphoria about paint…
and how much primer might be needed for some previous
paint jobs….and here’s the pictures of my boys room.
I had a look in my head…and this came out nearly exactly
as I’d planned.
Interesting note: I went into labour with my 3rd baby
the day we did all the pencil sketching on the walls
in this room. DUH. And I’ll be surprised
if he’s not permanently damaged from being in the room
with me and the paint fumes for the first month of his life…
come to think of it….no wonder he slept so well….
he was probably passed out from the smell :)

TFL.
